How can a mans who claims to be Christian (GW), not condone torture.?

How is that in the United States, a nation that is SUPPOSED to standup for and represent human rights, completely go the other direction in not recognizing the "Enemy Combatants" as Prisnors of War? Does this not make us...once again....among the biggest groups of hypocrites on the face of the Earth?
