English language: mutilated, d, and left bleeding and dying?

I agree totally. I, too, am guilty of not capitalizing everything I should, although that is mostly because of the fact that I have been typing for so long, my hands begin to hurt, so I try to have as few key strokes as possible. But I do agree that it is just plain sad at how people are speaking and writing now. I graduated college and most people in my literature and composition cles could not form a coherent essay. It was deplorable. One of the police officers I work with cannot spell to save his life, and he is responsible for writing up reports that go to the DA and the judge and all sorts of people. Bad spelling and grammar reflect badly on a person. It makes you seem uneducated and stupid and lower cl. People should take more pride in their spelling. English is the hardest language in the world to learn, because our language is constantly changing and we are always adding new words. We should not make things worse by killing the language with horrible grammar and spelling.
